Who Is Druski? The Internet Comedian Hosting Saturday Night Live, Explained

If you have seen the name Druski all over your feed this weekend, there is a simple reason: the internet comedian is about to host Saturday Night Live. Druski, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, will host SNL on November 7, 2026, with The Strokes as the musical guest. He is the first host whose fame was built mainly as a digital creator.

Here is who he is, how he got famous, and why this booking is such a big deal.

Why Is Druski Trending?

NBC confirmed a three-week run of SNL hosts in late October. Druski and The Strokes take the November 7 show, followed by John Mulaney hosting with Phoebe Bridgers as musical guest on November 14. Before Druski, the season had already featured hosts like NBA star Jalen Brunson, actress Dakota Johnson, and comedian Shane Gillis.

What makes Druski’s booking different is where he came from. Past hosts built their names in movies, TV, music, or sports. Druski built his on Instagram and YouTube, one short sketch at a time. That is why so many reports are calling him the first digital creator to host the show.

Who Is Druski?

Druski is an American comedian, actor, and content creator known for character-driven sketch comedy. He was born Drew Desbordes on September 12, 1994, in Columbia, Maryland, and raised in Gwinnett County, Georgia, near Atlanta. He went to South Gwinnett High School.

After high school, he tried college, first at Georgia Gwinnett College and then at Georgia Southern University, where he studied sports analytics. He left school and moved back home, and that is when comedy took over. He started posting comedy sketches on Instagram in October 2017.

How Did Druski Get Famous?

Druski’s early videos worked because the characters felt familiar. His breakout character was Kyle Rogger, an over-the-top “frat bro.” He also played a ruthless record label executive and a megachurch pastor, among others. The jokes were short, loud, and easy to share, and they spread fast.

His big break into the mainstream came in 2020, when he appeared in Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” music video. Around the same time, he started working closely with rapper Jack Harlow and toured with him. Suddenly, the Instagram comedian was showing up in places far beyond Instagram.

What Is Coulda Been Records?

Coulda Been Records is Druski’s best-known idea. It is a fake record label where Druski plays a brutally honest music executive holding auditions on Instagram Live. Singers and rappers perform for him, and he reacts in character, often with zero patience.

The bit became so popular that it grew into Coulda Fest, a mix of comedy and music that sold out as a festival in fall 2024 and expanded into an arena tour in 2025. Druski also runs his own entertainment company, 4Lifers Entertainment.

Druski on TV and in Movies

Druski has steadily moved from phone screens to bigger stages. He starred in the Peacock film “Praise This” in 2023, alongside Chloe Bailey. In June 2026, he hosted the BET Awards, becoming the youngest host in the show’s history at 31.

His next project, “Collect & Praise,” a comedy built from his megachurch sketches, is set to arrive on Netflix in December 2026, after his SNL episode airs.

What to Expect From Druski on SNL

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Druski’s episode pairs him with The Strokes, who are making their fifth appearance on the show as musical guest.

For viewers who only know SNL, Druski may be a new name. For the millions who have watched his sketches for years, this is the moment an internet comedian steps onto one of TV’s oldest comedy stages. That gap between those two audiences is exactly why his name is trending.
