Luka Doncic Scores 52 Points as Lakers Beat Jazz 132-123
A Night to Remember in Salt Lake City
Luka Doncic scored 52 points on Sunday, October 25, 2026, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 132-123 win over the Utah Jazz at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. It was the first 50-point game of the NBA season, and it came with 10 assists and eight three-pointers.
The Lakers trailed by as many as 18 points in the first half. Doncic poured in 25 points before halftime, including a stepback three-pointer with 4.1 seconds left that gave Los Angeles its first lead at 74-71. He had 39 points through three quarters, then closed the game out in style.
How the Finish Unfolded
With the game still in the balance late in the fourth quarter, Doncic finished off a 14-5 go-ahead run with back-to-back three-pointers, putting the Lakers ahead 127-121 with 1:42 left. The Jazz never recovered.
Doncic shot 17 of 30 from the field and 8 of 18 from deep, and he went 10 of 11 from the free-throw line. Lakers coach JJ Redick summed up the performance afterward: “When he’s in the flow state, he gets into the showman mode. He’s on stage performing and that’s always fun to watch.”
The Supporting Cast
Austin Reaves backed Doncic with 29 points, and together the pair shot 21 of 24 from the free-throw line. For Utah, Lauri Markkanen led the way with 28 points, while Keyonte George added 24 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists. Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 20, and rookie Ace Bailey chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Walker Kessler, playing his first game back in Utah after joining the Lakers in a sign-and-trade deal in July, finished with just two points and seven rebounds.
Why This Game Matters
The win moved the Lakers to 3-0 on the young season, and it was their eighth victory in their last nine games against Utah. It also added another line to Doncic’s growing record book: the 52-point night tied him with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at 10 career 50-point games, the 11th most in NBA history, moving him past Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who each have nine.
Doncic also became the first player in Lakers franchise history to record 50 or more points, 10 or more assists, and five or more three-pointers in a single game.
It is only October, and one great night does not win a championship. But performances like this are exactly why the Lakers brought Doncic to Los Angeles — and why the rest of the Western Conference will be watching every time he takes the floor.
What Comes Next
The Lakers were scheduled to host Portland next, on Tuesday, while the Jazz were set to host Memphis on Monday. If Doncic keeps playing anywhere near this level, the early-season MVP conversation will not wait long to find him.
